Within the modernity and the popularity of the urban lifestyle, noise has become an integral part of our lives. Because of the constant noise and relentless need to communicate and consume content, the concept of tranquility, time to be alone, to think and reflect, can sometimes feel strange and alienating. Even our relaxation time, for many of us, means time to consume more noise and information, through TV and Social Media. Only without the time to be alone, to reflect and connect to ourselves, we cannot really assess and create a progress in our lives. The truth is that our need for peace and reflection, for asking ourselves important question and giving us time to hear the answers is still there, even when we try to ignore it. Whether we admit it or not, we all search for peace and for a special place in our interior spaces where we just sit and reflect.
Maybe this is the reason why almost each of interior design brands, new or somewhat classic have a signature lounge chair in the product line.
Jaime Hayon’s RO TM
The word “Ro” means tranquility in Danish. This is also a name for the lounge chair that the Spanish designer Jaime Hayon, initially created for the Danish manufacturer of timeless design “Republic of Fritz Hansen” to create a space for us where we intentionally seek peace and time alone.
Innerhalb der Modernität und urbanen Lebensstils ist Lärm ein integraler Bestandteil unseres Lebens geworden. Wegen des ständigen Lärms und der unerbittlichen Notwendigkeit, den Inhalt zu kommunizieren, kann sich der Begriff der Ruhe, die Zeit, allein zu sein, zu denken und zu reflektieren, manchmal seltsam und befremdlich anfühlen. Die Wahrheit ist, dass unser Bedürfnis nach Ruhe und Reflexion, um uns wichtige Frage zu stellen und uns Zeit zu geben, die Antworten zu hören, immer noch da ist, auch wenn wir versuchen, dies zu ignorieren. Ob wir es zugeben oder nicht, wir alle suchen nach Ruhe und nach einem besonderen Platz in unseren Innenräumen, wo wir einfach sitzen und reflektieren können. Vielleicht ist das der Grund, warum jede Interieur-Marke Signatur-Sessel in der Produktlinie hat.

We were enjoying each, a quiet time in the lounge chair, as we asked each other “wouldn’t it be nice to experience this unique sense of tranquility while enjoying ample space together? “ Luckily the same thought had also Jaime Hayon. I am very happy to share the news: Republic of Fritz Hansen introduces Ro as a two-seater sofa. The Ro sofa is the third sofa Jaime Hayon has designed for Fritz Hansen in his six-year partnership with the company, and his second sofa launch of 2017 following the highly anticipated introduction of the modular Lune TM at Salone del Mobile earlier this year. Jaime Hayon’s collection for Fritz Hansen also includes the Analog TM dining table and the Sammen M dining chair.
Jaime Hayon’s RO TM and Fri M lounge chairs from 2013 and 2015 respectively, have proven to be his most iconic and coveted products. The Ro chair instantly fascinated audiences with its sculptural and elegant design; one seems to fall in love with it. Like its chair counterpart, the Ro sofa does not compromise on either comfort or aesthetics, reflecting refined craftsmanship and quality at every level.
So, let’s take more time for a tranquil solitude, as well as, the time to enjoy this peacefulness, sharing it within a closed space with our loved ones. And let’s remember, peace is available to us, when we create it and give it a specific time and place in our lives.
Als ich diese schönen Bilder von zwei gegenüberstehen Ro-Sesseln sah, erinnerte ich mich an das Gefühl, das ich und mein Mann in letzter Zeit gehabt haben. Wir haben es jeden Abend genossen, eine ruhige Zeit auf dem Sessel zu verbringen, als die Gedanken kamen: „wäre es nicht schön, ein einzigartiges Gefühl der Privatsphäre zu erleben und dabei genügend Platz neben einander zu haben? „Zum Glück hatte auch Jaime Hayon diesen Gedanken. Ich freue mich sehr über die Neuigkeit, dass Republik Fritz Hansen Ro nun als zweisitziges Sofa vorstellt. Das Ro-Sofa ist das dritte Sofa Jaime Hayon für Fritz Hansen in seiner sechsjährigen Partnerschaft mit dem Unternehmen.
Also, nehmen wir uns nun mehr Zeit für eine ruhige Einsamkeit, sowie die Zeit, diese Ruhe zu genießen und sie in einem geschlossenen Raum mit unseren Lieben zu teilen.
